What is it good for: Relieves itching and oily skin and hair conditions. It is thought to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp. Its calm and soothing properties help relieve nervous and anxiety conditions. Cedarwood oil can serve as an all-natural antiseptic and is known to be used topically to help combat bacterial and fungal infections, and study after study has proven that Cedarwood oil indeed has antimicrobial properties. Cedarwood supports healthy function of the pineal gland, which releases melatonin, the body's natural sleepy hormones.
Suggested Usage: It is best to dilute essential oil in carrier oil such as Grapeseed if you intend to prepare massage oil. Don't use essential oils neat onto your skin. Start with 1% essential oil to 99% carrier and increase essential oil until you have desired aroma strength.
Possible side effects: Reports of skin irritation caused by Cedarwood oil are rare. Always dilute essential oils into carrier oil before applying topically. Do a patch test before using the oil to ensure it doesn't irritate your skin. Like all essential oils, Cedarwood oil can be dangerous if ingested
