What is it good for: has been used to treat health conditions for centuries. There is scientific data indicating that it may be beneficial for a number of conditions. Used medicinally, Geranium Essential Oil works as an anti-inflammatory and anti-septic agent. It is reputed to enhance circulation, soothe symptoms of menstruation and menopause, reduce blood pressure and pain, and boost immunity. It is known to effectively eliminate dead cells and to promote the regeneration of newer, healthier skin, thus benefitting acne-prone skin. Its astringent property helps tighten the skin and to diminish the appearance of the symptoms of aging, such as sagging and wrinkling skin. For decades, Geranium Oil has also been used to promote hair growth by nourishing the scalp and balancing the production of sebum and natural oils.
Suggested Usage: It is best to dilute essential oil in carrier oil such as Grapeseed if you intend to prepare massage oil. Don't use essential oils neat onto your skin. Start with 1% essential oil to 99% carrier and increase essential oil until you have desired aroma strength.
Possible side effects: Geranium oil is non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant but it is good to be avoided during pregnancy.
