What is it good for: It is one of the most easily recognized oils because of its refreshing, energizing and uplifting scent. The health benefits of lemon oil can be attributed to its stimulating, calming, astringent, detoxifying, antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-fungal properties.

Suggested Usage: It is best to dilute essential oil in carrier oil such as Grapeseed if you intend to prepare massage oil. Don't use essential oils neat onto your skin. Start with 1% essential oil to 99% carrier and increase essential oil until you have desired aroma strength.
Possible side effects: There are case reports of lemon essential oil making your skin more sensitive to irritation from the sun so it is best to avoid direct sunlight when using any citrus essential oil. This irritation is called photo toxicity, and it causes a temporary redness that looks similar to moderate sunburn.
